SHUDDERSOME TALES OF POE

IMPACT, Tamworth, Staffs – “Shuddersome Tales of Poe” adapted by Lindsay Price from the works of Edgar Alan Poe.

Three of the Tales of Edgar Alan are retold in this eerie production. The Tell-Tale Heart, The Oval Portrait, and The Raven.

PRIVATE PEACEFUL

Limitless Academy of Performing Arts, Welwyn, Herts – “Private Peaceful” by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Simon Reade.

Set in Ypres, 1916, no man’s land in World War One. The night before his execution at dawn, Private Tommo Peaceful looks back at his short but joyful life, recounting as many memories as he possibly can in an attempt to “feel alive” before facing the firing squad.

NOT THE SEAGULL

Reeds School, Cobham, Surrey – “Not the Seagull” by Tim Silk & cast.

On the opening night of ‘The Seagull’ by Anton Chekov there was ‘a strained condition of boredom and bewilderment’ in the audience.  Writing afterward he said, “I was assured that I had hatched out nothing but idiots, that my play was clumsy from the stage point of view, that it was not clever, that it was unintelligible, even senseless, and so on and so on.

We hope the same will not be said for our production.
