Information for Schools

The Albany Theatre has a variety of shows aimed at people of different ages and from different backgrounds, including many that are suitable for schools. We welcome schools and other organisation groups to many of our events. We understand how valuable teachers’ time is, so we want to make your school visit to the Albany Theatre as easy as possible.

Have a look at our general information for schools below and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our box office if you have any additional queries, wish to check availability or would like to discuss your requirements and start a booking.

Benefits

When making a school booking we can offer you:

School Discounts

Some of the events presented at the theatre offer discounted rates for groups and schools, which are decided by the organisers of the event. Group and school offers will be displayed on the event’s page if available, but don’t hesitate to check in with our box office if you’d like to request a school rate. Under normal circumstances, group and school tickets are only available by contacting the box office directly as we can offer the best rates and seats.

Payments and Timing

We are happy to offer an extended reservation period for school bookings, with full payments not being required until a month prior to the performance. Confirmation of your reservation will be issued immediately via email. If your group is particularly large, please be aware that we may ask for a 10% deposit on your order to secure your reservation. Group numbers can be amended at any point during your reservation – once you are happy to proceed we will issue a request for payment. Payments can be made by invoice, card, cheque or cash. Full details of how to pay will be issued at the point you confirm your order.

Arriving by coach

Please use our new entrance to the Theatre on Albany RoadClick here for more information on finding us. Coaches are able to drop-off on Albany Road – right on our doorstep! Alternatively, there is a drop-off layby outside the Premier Inn on the main Butts Road, with just a short walk around the corner to the theatre entrance. Please see pictures below of both these areas.

Please note that the car-park area at the rear of the theatre is not available for public use.

Other Information

To save over-printing, we usually issue school group tickets in the form of a single seating plan – our volunteers will be happy to assist you taking your seats on the day. Please let us know if your school group will be arriving individually and we will be more than happy to issue individual tickets in advance of your visit.

Ice creams are available to order in advance, please request a form from us if you would like to take advantage of this.

We are also more than happy to discuss bespoke workshop offerings around any of our performances, or around the work that you are teaching in your classroom.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our box office if you have any additional queries, wish to check availability or would like to discuss your requirements and start a booking.
