Where do you fit in?
The Albany Theatre Trust’s vision is “to promote well-being through Arts for Life”. This vision, backed by rigorous and prudent financial and organisation management, was endorsed by Coventry City Council with their decision to underwrite the theatre’s lease. The lease secures the theatre for fifty years, giving the opportunity to create new facilities, including a studio theatre, in an additional 10,500 square feet of newly acquired space. The Albany is planning the development to provide important new facilities for community and professional use and will announce plans shortly.
The Trust is not embarking on this new development in isolation. Arts for Life is set against the background of Coventry’s emerging ten year arts strategy, and the City’s role as UK City of Culture 2021.
Volunteering at the Albany Theatre in Coventry
The 620-seat Albany Theatre is run on behalf of the community by a Charitable Trust. Day to day management is in the hands of a professional team. The Albany Theatre exists to provide all members of the community we serve with opportunities not only to perform on our stage, but also to give their time as volunteers to support all areas of theatre activity.
We are always on the lookout for volunteers to join our technical teams – stage management, lighting, sound etc. – but we also need help in front of the curtain with marketing, box office, front of house and managing our finances. See more about volunteering here.
If you have experience that is great. If you feel you don’t, or you are not sure how you can help, please don’t be shy. Get in touch. There are so many things to do that we are sure to find someting that will benefit us and most of all will be a lot of fun for you. And we provide support, training and development opportunities so if you haven’t got the skills but would like to learn them we really do want to hear from you.
