Kevin Shaw

Chief Executive & Artistic Director

Events Team

Darren Knapton

Events Manager

Darren manages all things events at the theatre. He can be found booking in shows for our seasonal programmes, implementing policies to ensure each performance runs as smoothly as possible, making new volunteers feel welcome into the team, and loads more. Darren joined The Albany in 2019 after working for other venues across the country.

Flora Shanks

Events Assistant

Flora plays a vital role within our events department. Her many responsibilities include assisting with programming and working with our hirers to ensure that all needs are met. Since joining the events team in 2019, Flora has been the driving force in improving the venue’s environmental policy and continues to review and develop our strategies. For vegan treats, sustainable cups, recycling, and more Flora’s your woman!

Chloe George

Outreach and Events Assistant

Chloe began her role at The Albany in 2019 as an apprentice in the events team and has gone on to grow her passion for outreach and education within the organisation. Chloe now assists in shaping the theatre’s Education and Outreach programme which will provide long-lasting links between The Albany and the community.

Communications Team

Jodie Dickson

Communications Coordinator

Jodie currently looks after our Communications department. She spends her time creating content for our social media channels, writing email campaigns, designing signage, spreading the word for the theatre, and so much more. Jodie began her journey at The Albany as a Marketing Apprentice in 2016 and has since progressed through the company.

Technical Team

Dan Tilley

Technical Manager

Dan is our technical manager. He manages everything behind the curtain. From lightbulbs to entire production designs, Dan and his dedicated team of permanent staff and volunteers make everything work like magic. He can be found holding production meetings with theatre companies to ensure their event is everything they envisage, heading up our health and safety department, or getting an event from paper to audience. Dan has worked in some of the UK’s most acclaimed venues in various roles.

Mike Molloy

Technical Assistant

Mike started at The Albany Theatre as an Apprentice Technician and is in the final stages of his apprenticeship. Mike enjoys working on the many genres of performance that The Albany Theatre hosts.

Daniel Robinson

Technical Apprentice

Daniel started his apprenticeship in 2020 with us. He looks forward to gaining the experience and tools to excel in the world of live events.

Finance Team

Amanda Thacker

Finance Assistant

Amanda looks after our finance department ensuring that things behind the scenes run like clockwork wherever money is concerned. Amanda assists with everything from day-to-day finance management to forecasting event income. She joined us at the beginning of 2020 and has transformed the efficiency of the department.
