Cinderella Junior Chorus Auditions

Audition Day Information:

• All auditionees must bring a printed and fully completed audition form with them on the day. This will be checked at registration, where each child will then be given their audition number.
• All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the audition day. Designated waiting areas will be provided.
• The Albany Theatre cannot accept responsibility for any child who is not accompanied by a responsible adult while attending the auditions.
• Children must be at least 9 years old and in Year 4 at the start of rehearsals, and no older than 16 and in Year 11 on the final day of performances.
• Children must wear suitable and appropriate clothing and footwear throughout the audition day. Clothing should allow them to move freely and comfortably during the dance audition.

What to Expect on the Day:

Children will be taught a dance routine during the audition, so there is nothing they need to prepare in advance. The auditions are for dance and performance only. Children will not be required to sing.

The audition will take place in two parts, although this may be adjusted depending on the number of auditionees. We will endeavour to ensure that all auditionees are given an appropriate break during the day.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking to cast two Main Teams of approximately 20–25 members, along with additional members for a Reserve Team.

The Main Teams will rotate throughout the performances, although all team members will be required to attend every rehearsal.

Throughout the audition, the panel will be looking for children who demonstrate:

• Strong dance technique and ability
• Confidence and enthusiasm in performance
• A willingness to learn and take direction
• A positive and committed attitude
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

What Happens After the Audition?

Following the auditions, we will carefully consider all auditionees and make our final selections. We aim to send an email by 20th September 2026 to let you know whether your child has been successful in gaining a place in one of our Main Teams or has been offered a place on our
Reserve Team. Please keep an eye on your inbox around this date for further information.

Performance Licence:
Please be aware that all children taking part in the pantomime must be granted a Performance Licence. A Performance Licence is a legal requirement for children performing in a production and must be obtained through the child’s local council before they can perform.
