Beauty and the Beast
at The Albany, Coventry

This December, Beauty and the Beast takes over The Albany in Coventry — and we’re looking for local adults (18+) to join us as our Community Ensemble.
You’ll perform as goblins and mechanicals alongside our professional cast — creating mischief, bringing magic to the stage, singing, moving, and helping us transform the theatre into a playful, vaudevillian fairytale. This is a brilliant chance to be part of a professional festive production.
Who we’re looking for
- Adults 18+ only
- People with some previous performance experience (school, college, community, amateur dramatics, music, or dance)
- Confident movers and singers especially welcome
- Above all: reliable team players who can bring energy, commitment, and a sense of fun
What you’ll do
- Perform as goblins/mechanicals, with movement, ensemble singing, and moments of dialogue
- Interact with the professional cast as part of the storytelling
- Work in rotating teams (2–3 groups) so you can balance performing with jobs and life commitments
Commitment
- Rehearsals: Saturdays + 1–2 weekday evenings- Exact dates to be confirmed
Tech & Dress rehearsals: Full evenings during tech week, and Dress Rehearsals
- Performances: 6 Dec – 4 Jan 2025 (rotating ensemble schedule)
- Please only apply if you can commit to the rehearsal and performance period — reliability is essential
Practicalities
- This is a voluntary opportunity — in a limited number of cases we may be able to cover some travel expenses
- All rehearsals and performances at The Albany, Coventry

Recruitment
- After you register your interest, and share your availability, we will review your submission and then invite people to an audition workshop on 4th October.
- We will notify everyone W/C 6th October to confirm your involvement in the production.
