If you want to direct plays you need to be able to pull them apart and put them back together again, like a mechanic fixing a car.
This masterclass is a guide to the essentials of directing.
How do you pull a play apart? How does it work? Where does it get its energy from?
Once you know the answer to these questions you can help the writer improve their script, the actor deliver a performance and the designer create an imaginative and appropriate world for the play.
Coventry was the UK’s major motor city, where better to discover the secrets of a drama, like the combustion engine, plays depend on the suck, squeeze, bang, blow. Come along and you’ll learn what that means.
This directing masterclass is for adults only and will run from 10am – 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break in the middle.
