Get exclusive behind the scenes access to The Albany, an art deco theatre built originally as the new Coventry Technical College’s Assembly Hall, opened by the future King George VI in 1935. Hear the storied history of this arts venue, from its role hosting events to raise the morale of the people of Coventry after the November 1940 blitz, through its important post-war years as one of the first two theatres in the country funded by the new Arts Council of England, to its present-day use as a professionally managed, volunteer-led community theatre.
Get an exclusive tour of our art deco theatre with the Albany’s longest-serving Trustee, David Meredith. David will share the story of one of the most important theatres in the history of pre- and post-war England. The tour will take roughly 45 minutes.
