We are looking for enthusiastic actors, singers and dancers in our local community to audition for our upcoming pantomime, Cinderella! All auditions will take place at The Albany Theatre. See details below.
Principal Auditions will be held Wednesday 8th July from 7pm – 9:30pm. Please register to receive your audition pieces and time slot. Please register prior to auditions as we cannot guarantee audition availability on the day.
Minimum age to audition for a principal role is 16 and in Year 12 as of September 2026. Under 16’s can audition for our Junior Chorus at a later date (full information will be announced shortly).
The first audition will be on Wednesday 8th July from 7pm – 9:30pm. Slots will be given out once you’ve filled in the form. Please do not show up without filling in the form as you will be turned away!
Any call-backs needed will be on Wednesday 15th July 7pm – 9:30pm.
Principal rehearsals will be Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 9:30pm and Sunday afternoons as and when required. Our first Principal read-through and rehearsal will commence on Wednesday 9th September. All rehearsals will be at The Albany Theatre.
The show itself will run from Thursday 31st December 2026 – Sunday 10th January 2027. Please ensure you are available for all show dates.
Auditionees will need to prepare a song (verse and chorus) of their choice, backing music can be played from your phone. Audition scripts will be sent on application. There will also be a short movement piece to learn in a group on the day. Please come in comfortable clothes that you can move in.
Available Roles:
- Cinderella (Cinders): Presenting female. Traditional “Principal Girl”. A beautiful, kind-hearted, and resilient young woman forced into servitude by her stepfamily who dreams of a better life.
- Buttons: Presenting male. Cinderella’s fiercely loyal best friend and a servant at Hardup Hall. He provides comic relief and is secretly in love with Cinderella, though he is firmly in the friend zone.
- Prince Charming: Male/female. Traditional “Principal Boy”. Handsome and somewhat lonely heir to the throne, looking to break away from royal expectations and find true love.
- Dandini: Male/female. The Princes loyal servant and friend. He enjoys the hilarious challenge of pretending to be royalty and fending off the stepsisters at the royal ball.
- The Wicked Step-sisters: Male/Female. Larger than life characters. They think they are beautiful and demand the best things in life, and are terrible bullies to Cinderella
- Countess Anastia: Presenting female. “Wicked Stepmother.” Cruel, vain, and manipulative, she dotes on her own daughters while inflicting misery on Cinderella.
- Fairy Godmother: Presenting female. Cinderella’s magical guardian. She drives the plot forward by waving her wand to guide Cinderella to her happy ever after.
- Baron Hardup: Cinderella’s henpecked father who is terrified of the Stepmother and her daughters. Likes to think he’s a ‘wheeler dealer/Del Boy’ but falls apart when the countess is around.
