Steelpan Workshop

Friday 17th July 2026

Learn to play the Steelpan…

Starting with a simple musical scale; followed by the first song ever played on ‘Pan’, and finally, if time allows, a short performance song!

Led by national and international competition winning performer, Fareed Siddiqui from Impact Steelband.

During the session, we’ll explore the history and origins of the Steelpan and end with a short performance; filling the Albany theatre with the sweet sounds of Trinidad and Tobago!

All levels of playing experience are welcome, however, the workshop will be particularly suited to beginners (18 years old and upwards).

Impact Steel Band from Coventry was founded in 2007 by band leader Fareed Siddiqui.

The band are hugely passionate about education and engagement; inspiring the next generation of players; by delivering workshops and live performances across the UK and abroad.
