Ever taken your acoustic guitar along to a lively music session? Marvelled at the virtuosity of musicians playing supercharged jigs and reels on fiddle, mandolin, squeezebox, pennywhistle or even banjo, while you’re just trying to keep up, strumming the same old three chord tricks?
Here’s your chance to show how the guitar can add its own magic to the music. Experienced music teacher, and founder of the popular Midlands band, Rack and Ruin, Mick Bisiker is back to host another of his popular workshop sessions and demonstrate some interesting note and chord progressions to complement traditional melodies.
With the help of ace fiddle-player, Jane Hargrave, Mick shares expertise built up over many years of performing at concerts, ceilidhs, and music sessions. All age groups are welcome, especially younger, future star performers of folk and acoustic music! Some basic guitar experience is needed and you’ll be amazed how much you can learn in a fun and friendly environment.
Admission is £8 or £5 concessions, including students and pensioners. Book in advance or pay on arrival, and don’t forget to bring your guitars!
