National Drama Festival 2024 FRI
Showing on Friday 19th July

National Drama Festival 2024

The National Drama Festival celebrates the cream of amateur theatre across the British Isles.  It’s a competitive showcase: a long weekend’s worth of award-winning productions.  Each production will have won awards on the festival circuit in the past few months, and deserves to be seen again!

And what’s more, they’ll be adjudicated by a GoDA Adjudicator, so that you can appreciate why they ARE the best of the best. Whether you’re coming to watch the plays in one session, or the plays in all six sessions, we’ve put together pricing structure we think you’ll like!

Friday Afternoon Lineup…

MIM by Mark Yeats, performed by Lucan Drama

Winner of the Newtownabbey Festival and Finalists of All Ireland One Act Festival. MIM and David spend time together in MIM’s Cavan holiday home. Despite not seeming like a good match, the play explores their deep connection and what exactly it was that brought them together as soulmates.

A Wake by Lee Flewitt, performed by Alderney Theatre Group

Runner Up of the Guernsey Drama Festival. Failed actor and alcoholic, Michael, has died, leaving a wife, a mother, a sister and several friends behind. But Michael is still awake, waiting to cross over to the next world but held back for some reason he cannot fathom. Over the course of his wake, he witnesses home truths and revelations and re-enacts the pivotal moments of his life, until the answers they provide give him the ability to move on.
