Like the stuffing in Geenie’s scarecrow, ‘Hay!’ like the sound she makes when he comes to life and ‘Hay!’ when he sees all the wonders of the natural world for the first time. Only one word but so many meanings in a show about growing up in the heart of the countryside and discovering that you don’t have to stay stuck in the mud – you can live your dreams, spread your wings and fly like the birds. In this beautiful story Farmer Geenie guides scarecrow step by step as he finds his feet, then his hands, his voice, his legs and his love of song and dance in a story about the fun of growing up where every moment there’s something new to make you say ‘Hay!’ We’ve got charming puppets – birds, butterflies and bees – and some very wonderful eggs each with their own surprises.
Our show is highly accessible and perfect for a younger age-group who will be giggling all the way through this gentle introduction to what theatre can be -sweet, funny, inclusive and uplifting.
