The Dublin Legends
Showing on Saturday 23rd March 2024

The Dublin Legends (formerly world-famous Irish folk band, The Dubliners) return to The Albany stage as part of their nationwide St Patricks Week Celebration Tour in March 2024.

It follows The Dublin’s Legends hugely enjoyable and memorable debut show at the Albany Theatre in June 2022 – which sold out a month in advance.

With over 50 years of performing experience between them with The Dubliners, Sean Cannon, Paul Watchorn, Gerry O’Connor & Shay Kavanagh are The Dublin Legends. Sean Cannon had been the lead singer with The Dubliners for over 30 years (taking over from the late Luke Kelly).

Cannon, who now resides in Coventry, and who can lay claim to be Coventry`s top music performer on the world stage currently touring, gave a vintage `hometown` performance in June 2022, captivating the capacity crowd with his stories and even singing in Gaelic on two stirring songs.

The band were created following the sudden death of The Dubliners founding member Barney McKenna when it was agreed that The Dubliners would come to an end as a touring band – and The Dublin Legends were born.

The Dublin Legends have continued the iconic musical legacy, travelling nationally and internationally to play concerts to a whole new generation of Irish music fans and their traditional Irish music followers the world over.

Their rousing folk songs and ballads are world-renowned – “Fields of Athenry”, “Dirty Old Town”, “The Wild Rover”, “The Rare Auld Times”, “Molly Malone”, “The Irish Rover”, “Black Velvet Band”, “Seven Drunken Nights” and many more… and promises an extraordinary show full of toe-tapping, foot-stomping music, humour and craic!

Following their previous sell-out show at the Albany Theatre, Coventry`s large Irish community are advised to get their tickets quickly for this rousing night of emerald isle classics.
