AN EVENT FOR A SOCIALLY DISTANCED AUDIENCE
Post-lockdown relaunch folk concert: Homeward Hie Feat. Rob Halligan with Ewan Cameron, Chris Hunt, Aiden O’Hare. Plus As The Heron Craig Sunderland.
This socially-distanced event sees the return of live folk music in Coventry and marks the beginning of a new series of CVFolk’s monthly concerts, sessions and singarounds, presenting the range of excellent folk talent to be found in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Described by the BBC as “Bruce Springsteen having English tea with Billy Bragg” Coventry-based Rob Halligan is internationally acclaimed as a singer-songwriter whose powerful lyrics reflect his compassion, discernment, and spirituality.
Even during lockdown, he has played extensively online. His recent Easter concert with Ewan Cameron and Chris Hunt in Coventry Cathedral, is available on YouTube Premiere here.
Songwriting craftsmanship at its best!
Homeward Hie is the recently-formed band where Rob is joined by Ewan Cameron (flutes, whistles), Chris Hunt (guitar) and Aiden O’Hare (violin, uilleann pipes) to perform songs mainly from Rob’s latest album, Always Heading Home.
The evening also features superb guitar, violin and harmony duo As The Heron (Gary Painting and Lauren South), plus the talented born-and-bred Coventrian singer and guitarist, Craig Sunderland.
