CVFolk launches its new season of ‘Second Sunday’ music events in the Albany Theatre Studio, with a lively concert to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The evening features versatile singer and guitarist, Bob Cooper who never lets his music go to waste. Inspired by the legacy of the late Steve Boyer, the Leamington musician shares his love of all styles of music – anything from folk to country to ska – by organising and supporting such community events as Sydnifest and the Dementia Café. This month sees him accompanied by a talented local line-up, some of whom have worked with Bob and Steve as The Hanksters, specialising in songs by Hank Williams.
Also appearing – and following their success on the CVFolk stage at this summer’s MotoFest, popular Rugby trio The Scutters will be pulling out all the stops. Comprising frontman, vocalist and guitarist Des Fraser, with Steve Redshaw (vocals, guitar, mandolin, banjo) and Richard Noton, (cajon and percussion), the happy, foot-tapping band plays a mixture of well-known songs with folk classics and Irish music thrown in.
Ther show starts 7.30pm and admission is free. But please give generously to the Caddy Collection and help us raise as much as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society – many of us have benefited from their fabulous support for carers and those living with this awful condition.
