An Orphan’s Dream
Friday 14th June 2024

“Before I found my path, I walked many roads and lived many lives. You still have time to discover yours.”

Intercultural physical theatre: An Orphan’s Dream takes inspiration from the traditional Chinese opera, The Orphan of Zhao. Breaking away from conventional themes of revenge and loyalty, this adaptation delves deep into the orphan’s psyche, offering a contemporary perspective.

Witness a captivating exploration of self- discovery as the orphan rises above societal confines, embracing his humanity. Rooted in a dream, the narrative intricately intertwines diverse roles and identities, delivering a profound commentary on identity, duty, and self- awareness.

This intercultural physical theatre piece seamlessly blends Chinese traditional stylized movements- including Kung Fu, Chinese opera, and classical dance- with Western physical theatre elements. Immerse yourself in a world where destiny intertwines with identity and dream mould reality.
